About The Role

We are looking for a team of support workers to care for a group of young adults in one of our homes at The Paddocks, in Wadworth, Doncaster. We’ll call our young people Peter and Molly*.

We are looking for people who are a good match in terms of personalities and have similar interests to our young people.

Peter is a caring and kind person who is looking for someone who has a positive attitude and gives encouragement and praise easily. Peter loves to bird watch but also enjoys time on his own on his iPad and iPod. Peter is looking for a support worker who is a great communicator, chatty but also patient and a good listener. Family is important to Peter so you would need to support him when he makes contact with them.

Molly loves to be out and about doing lots of different activities, so if you are an active person who enjoys a range of activities such as walking, swimming, baking and listening to music, you could be a great match. Molly likes to be independent but likes to be kept busy which helps her ADHD. Keeping safe is important to Molly, so you will need to be a clear and concise communicator, which helps Molly understand things as she has little awareness about danger.

Our shift times are:

Days 7:10am – 3:55pm

Afters 2:45pm – 9:30pm

It is a flexible rota running over 6 weeks, with no fixed pattern to shifts, for example you may work 2 days 1 afters then have 2 days off off, or work 3 afters then have 4 days off for example. You will work 14 day shifts and 14 afternoon shifts and will get 14 days off in the six week period.

Preferred days off can be put onto the communication board for the manager who will then try and accommodate the requests.

*Molly and Peter are not their real names
