We are looking for a team of support workers to care for a group of three people in one of our homes at The Paddocks, in Wadworth, Doncaster. We’ll call our young people James, Lily and Tom*.
We are looking for people who are a good match in terms of personalities and have similar interests to our people.
You will be kept busy each week with Lily as she enjoys visiting her friends and doing fun activities offsite. Keeping healthy is important to Lily so if you enjoy keeping fit especially going swimming, then you could be a great match! Lily likes her own independence but would rely on you to provide reassurance when she needs it. Lily’s routine and personal belongings are important to her so as her support worker you would need to make sure you understand her routine and are patient when explaining things.
Tom loves all things tech, and is a whizz on his iPad and YouTube. He also enjoys day trips out to the seaside, playing on the arcade games and going for fish and chips. You will need to be adaptable to how Tom feels each day and provide Tom with reassurance. Tom likes to know what is happening each day. Tom’s family is really important to him so will need you to support him when he is communicating with them. You will need to be a clear communicator and consistent in your approach.
James is very adventurous. One thing he loves is going to new places and meeting new people. Not to mention his family is the most important thing to him, so regular home visits will be essential to his happiness and infectious smile. James is a clever and kind individual who likes to watch films but also be given space and privacy to help him grow and become more independent. You need to be a positive person who encourages James to do things for himself.
If you feel that you can make a positive impact on their lives, then don’t hold back and apply now. This is a rewarding role and brings you as much joy as it does to the people in your care.
Our shift times are:

Preferred days off can be put onto the communication board for the manager who will then try and accommodate the requests.
